…When Ethel led us to the only way.
108 years later and Alpha Kappa Alpha still stands supreme on its principles created by its 20 founders. I am so proud to have discovered and joined this sorority where a group of women with such style and grace uplift each other in sisterhood, strive for scholastic excellence, and are dedicated to serving all mankind. AKA has been setting the standard since 1908 and I’m sure my founders saw fit to have it this way. Happy Founders’ Day to all my sisters near and far. Skeewee.
Wow! It’s already a new year. Another opportunity to start anew, begin fresh, letting the past go.
One of my readers suggested that I talk about last semester and list what I look forward to as this semester refreshes, but I’m definitely not one to dwell on the past. I love to learn from it, but why dwell on it? So in the year 2016, I am especially looking forward to..
- Graduation! May 13th, 2016 at 2:30 PM cannot come any faster. (It’s amazing how these past four years have flew by.)
- Getting closer to God! So at the start of the year, I began reading this book titled, The Purpose Driven Life— a 40-day plan to discovering your purpose in life, as according to God. It’s definitely an eye opener. With that and scripture readings, striving to attend church more (even at school) and steadfast prayer, I hope to just live for God and not for the world.
- To my future! What’s in store? Post-graduation plans? NO idea, but I’m trusting God along the way. I just know He wouldn’t leave me, and I know He will be ready to place me where I need to be, not on my timing.
- Even building better relationships with people! Making greater connections and ultimately being a great person to know.
